Hello.
I made this hat a while ago and I've been sitting on it, thinking... okay well not literally sitting on it. Let me show you and tell me what you think...
Eh? I always loved the bandana style, I just wanted to have a little more protection. So why not add a brim? I also made it reversible (see pic below).
Lala likes it. Hubby laughed. He says she looks like a Japanese factory worker. "Awww... she's my cute factory worker" I told him.
Okay, so feedback please! Should I make more? Would you have your wee one wear it? I'm curious...
Hey you!
For the kcwc challenge, I designed two three halter top dresses for Lala, and yes it's a top and dress. Dress for now and as she grows, it'll be eventually be a top. I gotta stretch my dollar wherever I can!
Oh gosh... I loooove this fabric. I used every last bit of it for this dress.
The next dress I designed it after one of my aprons...
I made bloomers, but I didn't do a good job on the FOE around the legs (first time using it), so I kinda left that out. More practice!
I love buttons! There's a fabric shop I go to and they have an old vintage trunk filled with nothing but old buttons. It feels neat to sink your arms into the sea of buttons. Hmmmm... wonder how it would feel diving into a pool of buttons...
And so there you have it... my kcwc for 2011.

P.S.
Whoops! I almost forgot... I had one more...
The cloud is a pocket and the collar is a cloud as well. I love-love-love this fabric, too! It's a lightweight chambray and is super uber soft. I would have Stella pose but she's in dreamland, plus the last photo shoot (notice the last collage pic above) she was not having it.
Okay...
I think I got it all.
Now I'm outta here...
Yahoo! The weekend is here!
I have been a busy mama. A LOT of sitting on my bum... in front of the sewing machine, of course! Between playing with tending to Lala, barely keeping my head above the sea of dirty laundry and being hygienically presentable, I actually found time to sew. Bonkers... absolutely bonkers!
So you've seen the lovely slew of aprons, now it's time for the babies. With this line of happy finds, I decided to coordinate Mama and Baby. Normally I like to sew on a whimsy, y'know... whatever I'm feeling at the moment. If it matches great, if not... ***shrugging shoulders*** oh well! This time, I had structure and purpose. Wanna see? Okay-okay... enough talk.
Take a look...
Weeeeee!!!
Fun, yah?! I designed a reversible bonnet, my genie bibs and the bloomers are from the Big Butt Baby Pant pattern from the lovely and talented Rae.
***clapping and jumping***
Ha-ha-ha! I'm just giddy over the set! Giddy I tell ya! It was so hard to not share with you the first set I made. Every set I made, I had to tell myself, "Okay, Veen... don't spill the beans... wait for it...". When I showed my cousins, they were giddy too, picking out their personal favorite.
What? Oh yes-yes... sorry. Enough talk.
Continue...
And there you have it.
I have one more to share, but I need to finish off the bloomers. I'll show you when it's done. Now all of these goodies will be in the new shop, which will open VERY SOON. If you like, I can email you once it's open. Just leave me your email in the comments. Otherwise, you can wait for the announcement here.
Alrighty then... I'm done for the night. Time to clock out and lay my head upon my pillow.
Good night!

P.S. Anyone staying up to watch the royal wedding?
Hey there!
The end is here! The end of the apron installments that is. Everyone, allow me to introduce to you Miss Stella...
"I feel like I've known you forever..." someone has once said to her. Stella smiled.
There's a sense of calm around her, a feeling of trust, as though you can tell her you deepest, darkest secrets and she would never tell a soul. She wouldn't.
She's a great listener. No matter how long your story is, she would never interrupt. Even if it meant burning her meatloaf to a lump of charcoal, because you're worth it.
She makes the best soup when you're sick, tells the funniest jokes when you're mad and is always happy to lend a helping hand.
Stella is a definite "keeper"... a friend for life.
Oh I have so much more to share with you and I promise they're not aprons! Do come back, okay?

Take care!

P.S.
Yes, Miss Stella is an apron!
Hello!
Everyone, allow me to introduce to you, Miss Grace...
Isn't she delightful? She has a "presence" about her. Men swoon and women envy. Cool, confident and classy is she.
Unapproachable? Nay! She's a magnet. Always a crowd around her.
Aloof? Bah!
Conversationalist? Ah! The deaf will hear and the mutes will talk once she gets her words around them!
A good cook? My-oh-my! I spent a summer with her one year and I gained 10lbs from my visit. My personal trainer thanks her.
Yup, she's perfect. A woman's woman. I have yet to find a flaw.
Oh I love her so!
I must warn you... once you have her in your life, you'll wonder what you ever did before her.

Oh Mildred...
You are such a fascinating piece of work. Like a gem, multifaceted and always a lovely sight to see.
Do you remember meeting Mildred for the first time?
She was dark and mysterious, but that was just one side of her...
***
The other day, I invited her over for some afternoon tea. "Oh just look at you... perfect for the occasion," I said with delight. She just smiled and curtsied.
***
Here, she sent me this picture from her visit to the south of France.
"Bonjour de France, je voudrais vous étiez là!"
***
The weather last weekend was just awesome. 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. "Let's have lunch in the park," I suggested, and would you believe, she even had the perfect apron to wear!
***
Mildred's mother-in-law makes the yummiest pot roast. Every time she would serve it, Mildred would ask for the recipe, and every time her mother-in-law would reply, "My dear... I never tell my secrets..."
So when Mildred hosted a dinner party in this little number, her mother-in-law asked, "Darling... where did you get this lovely apron?"
Mildred smiled.
"Oh Mom... I never tell my secrets..."

April 25th...
Mildred will be there...
will you?
Let's start with one of my favorite designs...
Miss Jenny
I love the tailoring. The plunging neckline and tailored bust makes this apron such an easy piece to wear. With the right mix of patterns and colors, you can transform into a beautiful senora...
These two lovelies will be available
April 25th
Where?
...TBA...

BTW, I just so happen to have the PDF pattern available to this design. You can purchase it at my shop.
