Oui! Talk about sore fingers after making these babies!
Hey, do you remember these lil' guys? Yup... I'm making more! Yippee! Now my problem is coming up with some clever words to put on them. Like what I did with my latest pincsuhions.
I need your help! Have any clever words I could use?
As for the pincushions I just made. I'll have them in my shop by the weekend. I'll let you know here, first. *wink*

See you later!
Hello!
It's been a while since I made one of these beauties. This one is for a crafty mama in North Carolina. Cute, ay?
On my recent trip to my favorite Japanese market, I found these. I was jumpin' for joy!!! I have been looking for these babies for quite some time and now they're MINE!!!
You see, when I first started making pincushions, Stephanie had mentioned to me about this fabulous blog called I Heart Linen, and how mine reminded her of these pincushions:
Aren't they just the cutest things ever?! When I saw it, I nearly died. I just wanna poke each little pincushion with my finger. Check it out over here.
So ever since, I have been searching for these dishes. I've looked everywhere and scoured all the Japanese markets between San Diego and LA, and no luck. You can only imagine how jubilated I was to finally have them. You should've seen me... a little asian lady hugging a stack of dishes close to her chest, bug-eyed, whispering "hee-hee... mine-mine-mine!". Man, I must've looked like a nut.
Now is the fun part. I've been playing around on a design. I'm still not too sure how I want this to be. This design in particular is in the direction I want to go, but there's something missing. I dunno... what do you think? I'll be playing with this a little bit more...
Here's another dish I found. They're mini shallow bowls on pedestals. Cute-cute-cute!

Have a wonderful Wednesday, my friends!

There's something about pincushions that holds a special place in my heart.
It brings tender memories of my childhood when I would sit and watch my mom sew.
A moment forever etched in my brain...
The house would be quiet. Still. The summer light filtering in through the lace curtains in our dining room. The smell of her perfume.
Quiet.
Still.
I miss those moments. I miss my mom.
So I make pincushions in hopes to not only be functional, but to bring a little more to one's heart. Whether it be inspirational or being part of a moment.
It makes me happy.
