for the hospital (part 1)

Hey there. 

Remember me?

My goodness, time is flying by and I'm trying desperately to get everything done before baby comes. As I was packing my bag for the hospital, I realized I haven't got a thing to wear. Oh yes-yes, I could just wear the fashionable gowns they have to offer, but puh-lease... really now...

So setting aside some time, I felt this was a good opportunity to make a robe. Ever since I had purchased this lovely Japanese craft book, I wanted to make this dress pattern into a spring/summer robe, but of course with a gazillion projects and ideas on my plate, this one had to wait. But wait no more!!! *hee-hee*

So here's the book...

This fabric is actually a thrift find. A king size flat sheet in excellent condition (and it doesn't even smell like the thrift store)!

I added a little flair here...

TA-DAH!!!

A fun little robe to cover my post preggy body.

Ah... I was so happy once it was complete. As I was putting it on, I then realized, I haven't got a gown to match!

Oh dear.

So back to the sewing board I go...

 and I'll show you what I made next tomorrow!
