Alrighty... things are slowly getting back to normal. Thank you so much for those who came to the Girls Day In event. It was a great experience and I met some very lovely and talented women. You girls rock! I'll share more with you on Wednesday...

So today I want to share with you a cool and easy craft that you can use for any occasion...
gift bags.
I found this book at my local haunt.
It's loaded with great gift wrapping ideas...
One idea caught my attention which is perfect for not only gift wrapping, but an easy way to customize your packaging if you sell goodies.
***
So let's get craftin'...
supplies:
-paper (i.e: wrapping paper, scrapbook paper, freezer paper, etc.)
-scissors (or a rotary cutter, whatever tickles your fancy)
-ruler
-pencil
-adhesive roller (you could use actual glue, but that's messy!)
-pinking shears (optional)
-embellishments (optional)
Measure and cut your paper to desired size.
Fold one short end about 1/4"-1/2" like so.
Now open the fold and place adhesive along the edge of the backside of the paper.
Bring the opposite edge to the fold line.
Fold over the edge with the adhesive and smooth down.
Your paper should look like this.
Smooth down the rounded edge so that you will have a nice flat piece.
Depending on how deep you want your bag, you will need to fold up that amount WITH a 1/2" allowance (i.e: you want it to be 2" deep, than fold up 2 1/2") from one end the paper.
Holding down one side of the folded piece, carefully open and flatten the sides like so.
Fold over one side, just past the middle mark (which is the inner fold) about 1/4".
Now it should look like this.
Repeat the last step for the other side.
Open the last folded piece and place adhesive along the edge, above the fold line.
Place the fold back down and smooth over.
Take the long side and fold over. Notice on the right side, there is a triangle when you create a fold? You want that triangle to "fit" within the recessed triangle on the bottom side of the bag.
Do the same thing on the other side.
Open the bag. Notice how the sides stick out?
Gently push the sides inward and press the edges to make it nice and clean.
Continue down to the bottom.
It should now look like this.
For the bottom, fold up one side.
Check it out!!! You got yourself one uber cool bag!!!
You can use your pinking shears for the top edge for added pizazz. Maybe embellish it with ribbon or buttons or whatever! The sky's the limit, baby!!!
Now you can make the "perfect" gift bag for any occasion. For just about anything.
Happy crafting!
