After review, I realized I have a lot to share with you before Halloween comes knockin' on our doors! So let's continue with the tour of my spooky haunted house!
Let's creep on over to the bedrooms...
I love the wall paper in this room (again, scrapbook paper). I thought it was fitting. There's Mr. Spider hanging out!
Who's that under the bed?! Always a scary thought, even for me and I'm how old?! I had scrapbook paper with scary eyes all over it and so I just snipped a small piece and attached it the frame of the bed. I then made a small stitch to hold up the blanket.
Here is the frame. Remember the grandfather clock? I used the left the over jewelry box. I needed a mattress, so I used the cushion that comes inside the box (what do you call that stuff?). I cut it to size and glued it to the topside. I then used foam board for the legs and the blanket, I glued to the frame.
For the dresser, again I used what was left of the jewelry box and paper. I found perfume bottles in my girls' barbie doll drawer (they won't miss it) and glued it on.
I really didn't feel like sewing curtains! So I cut four small rectangular pieces of cloth, tattered the ends, gathered each one, stapled and glued them on. Easy!
What a delightfully frightful bedroom!
Even Dracula needs a place to sleep!
Now...
onto the attic...
The ghost was a simple sewing project, made of muslin and stuffed with a little fiberfill. Lily painted the face with fabric paint and I strung it the ceiling. Speaking of ceiling...
They're watching you!
Remember the eyes under the bed? Same paper.
Every attic has a chest of goodies! Luckily Lily had kept this small plastic container. It was originally clear plastic, so Mike spray painted it black.
And so there you have it! All the secrets revealed!
As I said before, it's a work in progress. We were fortunate not to run into the homeowners on our visit. You will meet them very soon!
So word got out about the haunted house and a few of Lily's toys were not happy about it...
Perhaps a superheroes lair? Or action figure hang-out? Perhaps...
you are soooo creative!! I LOVE it!!!
